A first-year B.Tech Computer Science student, Rahul Yadav from Chhattisgarh, was found dead in his hostel room at KIIT University. Police are investigating the incident, which marks the third student suicide on the Bhubaneswar campus this year.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sonal Singh Parmar, Rahul Yadav's body was discovered hanging in his hostel room on Sunday. The Infocity Police Station personnel recovered the body, and an investigation was immediately launched.

BJP MLA Saroj Padhi has expressed serious concern over the recurring student suicides at KIIT. He stated, "We will place a demand before the chief minister to take stringent action against the persons responsible for the death of students in KIIT," speaking from the Assembly premises.

The police investigation is ongoing, with forensic teams collecting evidence and students being questioned. The family of the deceased student is en route to Bhubaneswar.
